On the road to Boumdeit - Mauritania
Having exhausted the bead markets and toured most of Kiffa Town, we decided to take a trip towards Boumdeit .. with no particular hope of finding any treasures, but to see the landscape and local villages.

Leaving Kiffa Town and heading North East towards Boumdeit .. we passed by some good grazing land ...

..... and a source of fresh water by the side of the road .....

..... which attracted wild and domestic animals alike

Wide sweeping flat landscapes with bushes of Camel Grass would occasional be broken by rocky outcrops ..
this one had an unusual but natural feature, looking like a 'rounded turret', at its far end

A traditional mud-built oven .....

..... and another one in the right forefront of these pastel-coloured village houses
